Registration for CAP's support of the 2023 JBLM Air Warrior Expo (JAWE) July 14-16 weekend is now open. We are in need of 90 cadets (must be 15 years or older) and 30 SM.
WHEN/WHERE: Fri 14 July 1730 ( arrive having had dinner). We will unpack and set up camp and meet with base personnel. Weekend ends and pick up Sunday 16 July at approximately 1800. Your command base and check in/out will be at WAWG CAP HQ on McChord Air Force Base : 307 Pitsenbarger Blvd, Joint Base Lewis-McChord. (McChord Field Exit 125 off I-5)
As we continue to re-open from the pandemic, CAP is being called upon to fill a gap in volunteers for this unique and exciting community event where the JAWE is several hundred volunteers short this year. You will have the opportunity to offer both our help to support this program as well as enjoying the Expo all weekend long. See the below links for the Air Show information as well as where we are helping.
WHAT: CAP has been asked to support the JAWE Airshow at their food concessions selling lite food items (ie: beverages/ice cream). We will have two 5 hour shifts (0800-1300 & 1300-1800) both Saturday and Sunday. We will run 4 fully supplied concession booths/tents with 10 cadets and 1-2 SM in each. When you are not helping at the booth you will enjoy and explore the Air Show and exhibits with your fellow CAP members. CAP will also have a static display of CAP aircraft on the ramp where we will need two shifts of 2 cadets to talk to visitors about our CAP program. Billeting will be at WAWG CAP HQ in both a tent city (personal tents/shared tents) and in the HQ building. (Wingman and Cadet Protection Protocols will be in place.) You will receive a packing list and final email 2 weeks prior to the event. Members are encouraged to carpool and discuss this event with their commanders if you have any questions. POC are also listed in this email to answer any questions.
