Olympic Air Show
Who: Cadets and Senior Members are integral to the fun and success of this activity!
What: This airshow activity combines all three of CAP's missions. Support to the 2024 Olympic Airshow regional event and the Camp Stack bivouac site with multiple CAP roles (pending activity approval): sustaining and guiding crowd lines, assisting with static aircraft movement, guiding vehicles at on-site parking, color guard, recruiting, orientation flights (weather dependent), DFAC, and general activity support.
When: Sat-Sun, 15-16 June 2024 (arrival Fri, 14 Jun)
Where: Olympia Regional Airport, 7643 Old Hwy 99 SE, Tumwater, WA 98501
How (much): Registration $50.00 from 5/22/24 to 5/28/24. Registration fee covers meals and a t-shirt for registered members.
Registration Form: Due to an overwhelming response, this activity has reached capacity and registration has been closed.
Note: If you applied for a staff position, you must also complete the registration form along with your staff application.
Why: This is one of the last multi-day bivouac opportunities remaining in Washington Wing and an opportunity to exercise skills relevant to all three CAP missions.
WA-019 South Sound Composite Squadron invites you to join us for an amazing weekend of aviation at the 2024 Olympic Airshow in Tumwater, WA, held over Father's Day weekend, June 14-16, 2024.
This opportunity allows Cadets and Senior Members to serve the community, promote aviation awareness, demonstrate CAP capabilities, and build local partnerships in a safe and professional manner. They assist with flightline operations, parking management, water distribution, recruiting and more.
Participants will arrive Friday, Jun 14. Cadets and willing Senior Members will camp on the flightline for the weekend. We will have a bivouac camp and dining facility to house CAP members volunteering with the air show.
All levels of experience are encouraged to attend. There will be opportunities for all in the Leadership, Camp, Recruiting, and Operations teams in uniform to support the success of the Air Show. This is a unique opportunity for cadets to work in small groups and with specific missions to accomplish. There will be many different tasks, so we welcome and need all levels of knowledge and experience. Approximately 60 total Senior and Cadets members are required to accomplish this large of an event with many opportunities to engage with the public and support our state's aviation community.
